Ridiculous

So here's a royal screw-job for ya. I get an email late this afternoon from the Chemistry Undergrad Coordinator today informing me that my Analytical Chemistry Lab section has been canceled. Not the standard message: "You've been bumped out of the class," but instead, "the class section is gone altogether, so sign up for another section."

I see a few problems with this situation:

1. The reason I signed up for the section I did is because I have Biochem at 5 on Wednesday, and the lab filled the afternoon nicely; now, no such convenience.
2. There is one section with no one in it, and another with 6 people in it. How about dropping those sections to conserve the "insufficient lab resources" (or something like that) and stop screwing 24 people?
3. Drop/Add is not open until the first week of school, leaving us all scrambling to add this necessary class, and adjust the rest of our schedules to fit it.

I'll think of more.

Until then, I've contacted said Coordinator, the Head of the Honors Program, and the Lab Coordinator, in hopes that someone will help me rectify this situation with minimal pain. I would hope that my section might be reinstated, but as my good friend Thom said, "it's easier to live life without expectations, that way, I'm never let down."
