Been A While

The title says a lot. I haven't updated this thing in almost a month. Mostly because it would be hellacious to try to keep up with the constant roller coaster of my life and be coherent.

That said, today has been the best day I've had in a very long time and I have a good feeling about things to come. It feels good to be optimistic again.

I hiked the Cascades today with Dave, Chris, Trang, Joe, Steven, and a few of Chris' friends. It was perfect weather, cool but not uncomfortable. When we got close to the top, there was a lot of snow and ice around, and we knew the falls would be really pretty. And boy were they. Half frozen over, but still flowing. It was really freakin' cold, but definitely worth it. Dave took a swim, which was really entertaining, but the rest of us stayed dry and got some really nice pics.

I came home and puttered around for a few hours until Alumni Dinner. Definitely good times. I had a wonderful companion for the evening, and a good time was definitely had by all. I'm slowly adding to the glasswear collection, and so far I've accumulated a pint glass, tumbler, shot glass, and hurricane glass all from Alumni Dinner events. One day I'll put them all to good use, I'm sure ;)

We went over to Kate and Kirsten's place afterwards for the requisite after-party to hang out with everybody. Ah, it's fun to watch people get drunk. They do the most interesting things. I saw some very interesting things...and didn't see certain other things. If you weren't there, you won't know what that means and I'm not explaining it. If you've seen "Waiting," you'll get an idea.

So here I am at nearly 2 AM, satisfied once again with my life. There are ups and downs, twists and turns, but we always wind up on the same track. I'm back, and damn does it feel good.
